i just want God

i picked up eat, pray, love again today and began reading it with a weird obsession. i was looking for something and i wasn't quite sure what it was.......then i got to this part, pg. 176:

"I just want God. I want God inside of me. I want God to play in my bloodstream the way sunlight amuses itself on water." This is taken from page 176 of Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.

i am catholic. that means that i go to mass every sunday. i pray the rosary every now and then. i go to dinners and dances that support local organizations. i had my son baptized at 6 weeks. this is how i am catholic. i take the holy Eucharist every chance i get. but i am not LIVING it. i am tired of sitting on the sidelines and just being catholic. i want to do things my way. i want to really experience the eucharist and adoration in my own way. i think that the passage out of the book tells it like it should be. we should want to feel God in us. it's not about all that other stuff. why say the rosary if you don't even know why you're saying it??? now, i love the rosary and i pray to Mary a lot...i'm just using that as an example. i guess what i have discovered is: we will get more out of religion if we make it our own. that is what i plan on doing. i don't just want to sit on the side line in mass. i want to expereince mass. i want to leave church knowing that i experienced God. i felt Him and then took a little of him home with me to share with others.

i know i ramble....but i just had to share this.
