~Truthful lips endure forever, the lying tongue, for only a moment. Prov. 12:19
~He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him takes care to chastise him.

~There is joy for a man in his utterance; a word in season, how good it is! Prov. 15:23
~Entrust your works to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. Prov. 16:3
well....i got to part of chapter 16....more tonight and tomorrow!
I'm working on Proverbs right now too! The last chapter I finished was 14.
ReplyDeleteHere were the verses that stood out at me:
~When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, But he who restrains his lips is wise." Prov. 10:19
~The one who guards his mouth preserves his life, The one who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. Prov. 13:3
~He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will suffer harm Prov. 13:20
~A gentle answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger. Prov. 15:1
I like taking a favorite verse from each page and jotting it down at the top of the page.
This one that you quoted is great:
ReplyDelete~A tranquil mind gives life to the body, but jealousy rots the bones. Prov. 14:30
It's so easy to be jealous at times, but it's very true that it just makes you rot down to the core. Jealousy causes ickiness on the inside, but having peace and contentment is like soothing water to the soul.
